- John Farlor in his will devised to 1 and John Churchman (now dec’d) £700 as trustees. Whilst Elizabeth Williams (wife of James Williams) is alive interest from the £700 is to be paid to her. Once she passes away, the £700 is to be divided between her children who are still alive. Executors to be appointed are John Farlor’s daughters: Elizabeth Williams (wife of James Williams) and Ann Walburton (wife of William Walburton)

- Mortgage dated 27 September 1873 between Thomas Price of p.TREGARE, Innholder and 1. Thomas Price mortgaged to 1 the alehouse with appurtenances for £20. Thomas Price to repay 1 or else has right to alehouse for 1000 years

- Elizabeth Wanklyn (2), (wife of Thomas Wanklyn, then called Elizabeth Williams), and her brother John Williams now deceased are the only children of Elizabeth Williams (wife of James Williams). Once Elizabeth Wanklyn and John Williams had both reached the age of 21, they agreed on 6 October 1770 that of the sum of £700 on the death of their mother, one half (£350) go to John Williams the other half to Elizabeth Wanklyn

- John Williams then passed away intestate before disposing of his £350. Letters of Administration were granted 19 May 1777 to his father, James Williams

- John Churchman and Elizabeth (wife of James Williams) are now both dead. So 2 have requested that 1 as surviving trustee pay 3 (the surviving trustee under the marriage settlement of 2) £350

- Even with £20 still owing to 1, 2 have agreed to pay 3 £350

- He is owner of White Lion containing ¾ acre of land and near parish church

- Property purchased in 1753 by 1’s great uncle, Thomas Price, who devised it to 1’s grandfather, Thomas Price, who died intestate in 1833. As he was a widower, the property then went to the eldest son, 1’s father, Thomas Price

- 1’s father, Thomas Price, died 25 October 1872

- 1’s father, Thomas Price, died intestate. As he was a widower, property went to 1 as eldest son.

If 1 fails to pay insurance on premises, then 2 will do so and he will be reimbursed by 1 with interest at rate of 5% per annum.

If 1 fails to pay 2, then 2 may sell White Lion or parts thereof. If any sale takes place, then any surplus money, after 2 has been reimbursed, to go to 1. 2 will also have the right to enter and use White Lion. 1 will also attorn tenant with 2 collecting rents on 9 February at annual rate of £2-15s-0d.

Note shows that 2 has paid 1 £55. 1 must pay 2 £55 plus interest at 5% per annum on 9 February 1881.

During her life, 1’s wife, Eliza Price will be allowed to live there. Once she has passed away, Benjamin Jones and Alfred I Jones will sell the White Lion, with the moneys being divided equally by: 1’s daughters: Elizabeth Louisa Price, Sarah Jane Jones (wife of Benjamin Jones), Hannah Jones (wife of Alfred I. Jones), Eliza Price, Email Price, and adopted daughter Medina Maria Gabb (daughter of Annie Gabb), and grandson John Wesley (son of Sarah Jane Jones)

Will is subject to life estate of his sister-in-law Mary Price.

Middlesex, provision merchant; Oliver Arthur Burgham of the Redbrook Brewery, co.Monmouth, Brewer. (The White Lion is being sold to O.A.Burgham by Trustees of a Will, namely B.Jones and H.Wood; D.Parker has an interest from a previous mortgage)

- Thomas Price of the White Lion Inn declared on 9 August 1880 he held Inn in fee simple free from encumbrances, i.e. Mortgages

- Mortgage of 9 August 1880, between Thomas Price and Champney Powell. White Lion granted to the use of C.Powell subject to a proviso for redemption on payment by T.Price to C.Powell of £55 plus interest on 9 February 1881
