Biographical/Historical note
John Jones was born in Blaenavon in 1891, and was a pupil at Blaeavon Elementary School from 1889-1904. Later in life he was a miner at Big Pit, Blaenavon and, incidentally, the father of Ken Jones the Welsh International rugby player and Olympic sprinter.

The collection contains records of John Jones of Blaenavon, including; a certificate of school attendance, a school work book, a class photograph, a National Registration Identity card, and a photograph of John Jones as an adult.
