Biographical/Historical note
Charles Jeffreys (CJ) was born c.1868 and worked in 1914 for the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company Limited at Elliot Colliery. His son, Edwin Charles Jeffreys (ECJ) was born in 1903 and between 1925 and 1938 worked for the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company Limited / Powell Duffryn Associated Collieries Limited at the West Elliot Colliery and Penallta Colliery
