Biographical/Historical note
Parish Councils were formed by the Local Government Act 1894, to have oversight of amenities within rural areas. In Wales parish councils became community councils under provisions of the Local Government Act 1972. Portskewett Parish Council became the Portskewett Community Council on 8 April 1974.
