Biographical/Historical note
Parish Councils were formed under the Local Government Act 1894 to have oversight of various amenities for rural areas. In Wales, Parish Councils became Community Councils under the Local Government Act 1972.
Marshfield Vestry became Marshfield Civil Parish Council in 1894. In 1974 the Parish Council became Marshfield Community Council.

The collection contains Minute Books, 1895-1957; and a Vestry Meeting Minute Book, 1865-1894.
