Amenities and Physical Accessibility

Gwent Archives is on the ground floor of the General Offices, all on one level and is fully accessible to wheelchair users, mobility scooters and pushchairs.  Accessible access is provided at the rear entrance and there are accessible toilets on the ground floor.  The 2 car parks closest to the General Offices include spaces for disabled badge holders plus a few spaces off Lime Avenue.  Please see this map  for details, using our postcode NP23 6AA.

A hearing loop is in place in the Research Room, and hearing aids should be switched to the ‘T’ position.   All staff at Gwent Archives are happy to advise on our services, facilities and collections and further information about additional support and our commitment to accessibility can be found in our Disability Access Policy.

Seating areas are situated in the Atrium of the building, where researchers can take a break and enjoy refreshments.  A small selection of sandwiches and snacks are available to purchase, as well as hot drinks, and you’re welcome to eat packed lunches there too.
